“The world of Artsakh is an inseparable part of the Armenian Highlands, which, according to archeological data, has been one of the cradles of man since the ancient Paleolithic period, and here the life of the Armenian man has continued without a break in all periods. From ancient times until today, Armenian-made Artsakh has always been a thorn in the eyes of foreigners. It is no coincidence that it has been attacked and pillaged by tyrants of all times. Over the millennia, grateful generations have cherished and preserved every pain of their ancestors, bringing centuries-old memories and history to our days.
The history of Artsakh is full of various wars and conquest attempts. Artsakh saw the campaigns of the Seljuk Turks and did not surrender. Artsakh saw the burden of Mongol rule, but did not surrender. Lenk Temur, Kara-koyunlu and Ag-koyunlu Turkmen tribes marched to Artsakh, but they could not subjugate them. Artsakh saw the brutal period of the Turkish-Persian war, but did not fall. Artsakh lived and developed during the period of Khamsa’s rule.
Armenian Artsakh survived the great years of Karabakh Khanate. Artsakh kept its face and identity within the Russian Empire. Artsakh survived and did not surrender in 1905-1920. During the Genocide of the Armenians of this Caucasus. The Artsakh militia arrived at the last moment and saved the outcome of the Armenian Sardarapat battle. Artsakh resisted and was not assimilated into the status of Nagorno-Karabakh of the USSR. Artsakh was reborn and presented to the world in 1988-94. with the liberation movement. The Republic of Artsakh lived and established itself on the way to its thirty-year de facto independence.
The bottomless ship of the Armenian Artsakh from the ancient times, struggling against evil and violence, reached the rough harbor of the 21st century, opening new horizons for its future. The Armenians of Artsakh, keeping sacredly the depositions of Noah’s grandson Hayk Haretosyan in the vaults of their memory, fought for survival, identity and independence, for the preservation of the Armenian cultural values and spiritual heritage created with blood and sweat.
And which decent Armenian can come to terms with the idea that the world of Artsakh, which has fought for thousands of years and remained Armenian, will be handed over to the enemy by the hands of the Nikols, Allens or Suriks?
