According to the indiscretions ofESPN, we will find three French people in the “Green room” this Thursday, during the NBA Draft which will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Unsurprisingly, Victor Wembanyama will be invited to take his place. He will be accompanied there by Bilal Coulibaly, with whom he played at the Mets 92 this season, as well as by Rayan Rupert (Auckland Breakers).
But by the way, what is the “Green room”? It is simply a space located just in front of the stage from where Adam Silver will call the lucky ones. Players invited to sit there may be accompanied by 10 of their relatives. An invitation to the “Green room”, however, does not guarantee anything for the Draft, whether it is a selection in the first round, or a selection at all in fact, but it is still a (very) good sign. To designate the invitees, the NBA asks the leaders of the 30 franchises to compile a list of players they believe will be selected in the first round. In this case, the North American league called up 25 players this year, including one who, again according to ESPN , declined, the so-called Kris Murray.
