Despairing and leaving the homeland is not a solution to the problem, wrote Eduard Sharmazanov, a member of the General Assembly of the RPA.
He added: “Recently, I often hear the expression “I will leave the country”, which is related to the shameful capitulation, the depopulation of Artsakh, the capitulators’ decision to act according to the Turkish agenda, and why not, the inefficient functioning of our opposition parties.
Without blaming those who have such an opinion, however, I do not agree with them.
Armenia is the homeland given to us by the Creator and our goal as a nation is to live and create in our homeland, protecting and building it. Taking the path of emigration after defeats is not a new phenomenon, it existed in the Middle Ages and certainly weakened our national resistance.
We weakened as a nation when in 1021 Artsruni handed over the kingdom of Vaspurakan to Byzantium, and Senekerim Artsruni migrated to Sebastia with 14 thousand people. We weakened when we handed over Ani and scattered around the world, from Cilicia to Kievan Rus and Poland.
Centuries later, some of us are once again trying to find our fortune on the “foreign desert road”. Artsakh was handed over to Turks today, what now? should we leave our homeland once again?
Despairing and leaving the homeland is not the best way to solve problems. Moreover, it is an escape from the problem.
And the solution to the problem is as follows. stay, live, fight in the homeland. Live and fight for Armenia and Artsakh.
What the Turks want is for the Armenian to be disappointed and leave his homeland. Will it be easy? Of course no. But there is no other way.
We have to live to stop the overthrow of the state, not to hand over the homeland to the Turks, and to preserve the “crumbs” of statehood.”
