The increase in income was particularly dynamic last year. But some branches have been more generous than others.
Less of a surprise than a disappointment. In the wake of inflation, which has been slowing significantly for several months, the progression of remuneration is in turn returning to lower levels. In the fourth quarter of 2023, the basic monthly salary (SMB) only increased by 0.3%, reveals the latest study from Dares (Ministry of Labor) published this Friday morning. As a result, its increase over one year fell to 3.8% compared to 4.2% in the previous quarter. The information is not to rejoice French employees who hoped that the end of the label waltz would open a period of gain in purchasing power, after the latter had stagnated or even regressed in previous years.
