WhatsApp to end support for older Android devices

Messenger WhatsApp will end support for devices running Android 4.0.4 or older from November 1, according to the data on the company’s website.

“WhatsApp will end support for phones running Android 4.0.4 or older from November 1, 2021,” the message says. The company noted that WhatsApp can be used on Android with operating system 4.1 and newer and on iPhones with operating system iOS 10 and newer.

In May, a WhatsApp spokesperson said the messenger would begin to gradually disable users who disagreed with the company’s new privacy policy. The policy update was planned for February 8 this year, but it had to be postponed to May 15, as many were outraged by the new condition, according to which the personal data of customers will be transferred to the owner of WhatsApp Facebook.
