As is tradition, television channels prepare with special programming to Easter week, where several religious classics will be included, and one of the first to be broadcast will be The Last Temptation of Christ.
The film that starred the outstanding actor Willem Dafoe Like Jesus, it was also directed by acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsesewho received an Oscar nomination in 1989 for his work.
Despite the above, the film was not without controversy, since at its premiere was harshly criticized for the controversial way in which it told the story of Jesus of Nazareth.
What is it about?
The Last Temptation of Christ which was released in 1988 was based on the novel by the Greek writer, Nikos Kazantzakis and had his recordings in Morocco. Regarding its plot, the work offers a unique vision of the life of Jesus of Nazareth, very far from the Bible, presenting it in a more human and vulnerable version.
Willem Dafoe leads the cast of the film taking the role of Jesus, while David Bowie interpreta a Pontius Pilate. They are also added Barbara Hershey, who plays Maria Magdalena, and also received a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress in 1989.
Additionally, the film received a Grammy nomination for its outstanding instrumental music.

This will be the third time that TVN will broadcast the film, but this time it will do so through open television and simultaneously on its digital platforms.
The transmission will be this Friday March 22th in prime time signal, around 22:40 hoursas part of their Best Seller.
