Why was a Russian missile fired near a British spy plane?

A technical fault has been explained as the reason why Russia fired a missile near a British spy plane.

Britain’s Defense Minister Ben Wallace said,

A British Air Force RC-135 Rivet joint reconnaissance aircraft was flying in international airspace over the Black Sea this month.

Then one of the Russian Sukha-27 fighter jets fired a missile near the British plane.

When asked for an explanation in this regard, the Russian Defense Minister explained that it happened due to a technical fault.

Therefore, he has decided to resume the air patrol.
