Governor Eduardo Riedel (PSDB) should sanction in the next few days the law that authorizes the credit operation of R$ 2.3 billion to the BNDES (National Development Bank). With the resource, he will be able to have more flexibility in presenting projects with the EPE (Strategic Partnerships Office).

The measure had been awaited since the beginning of the administration, eight months ago, when the governor began negotiations to transform the state’s transport logistics, which is undergoing an economic development boom.

The appeal was authorized by the Legislative Assembly, after a second vote on Tuesday (5). In all, there were 20 votes in favor and two against by state deputies Rafael Tavares (PRTB) and João Henrique Catan (PL). The matter was dealt with in record time at the House of Laws, in less than two weeks.

The allocation of the value is for renovation of highways in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. In all, there are 600 km of state highways and another 300 km of resurfacing. Among the planned works is the paving of the MS-134, in the section between the MS-040 and the BR-267, in the Casa Verde district, as well as the restoration of the MS-276, which runs from the Indápolis district to the municipality from Deodápolis.

It is worth mentioning that the financing will only be possible due to the moment of good payment capacity of the State, which is letter “A” in Capag (Payment Capacity), evaluation made by the National Treasury, with indicators on the low indebtedness, current savings and index of state liquidity.

Mato Grosso do Sul will raise funds from the “BNDES FINEM” line, which finances public investment projects aimed at increasing production capacity and promoting various sectors of the economy. “This line has low risk, with easy conditions, low interest rates and a longer amortization period than other national financial institutions”, assured Riedel.
