Palakkad: Money was stolen from the bag of a private bus passenger at Ottapalam. CCTV footage of a passenger stealing Rs 25,000 was obtained from the bus. Based on this, the police started an investigation. It is clear from the scenes that the passenger in the seat suddenly got up, covered his shawl, put his hand inside the bag and in a moment transferred the money to his own bag.
Everything from the beginning of the robbery to the end was captured on CCTV. Shrujitha, a resident of Thrikkangode, came out and checked the bag and came to know that she had lost Rs 25,000. The purse containing cash and ATM card was stolen. The burglary took place on the way home with cash withdrawn from an ATM counter in the city.
The incident took place on the way to Chorottoor from Ottapalam. Shrujitha was traveling in a busy bus. Police are trying to trace the culprit.
