New Delhi: National Wrestling Federation president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Saran Singh has ended his strike against wrestlers. It was decided to end the strike after a discussion with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. It has also been assured that Brij Bhushan will stay away till the completion of the government inquiry, which has accepted most of the demands raised by the actors.

Based on this, it was decided to withdraw the strike that has been going on for three days. The minister informed that a monitoring committee will be formed to investigate the allegations made by the wrestlers and who will be on that committee will be announced today. Reportedly, this committee will monitor the activities of the federation. Anurag Thakur also stated that the committee will submit a report on the matter within a month. The first round of talks held by the wrestlers with the sports minister ended without a decision, but the second round of talks held yesterday lasted for seven hours. The players raised demands such as the resignation of Brij Bhushan, who is facing sexual allegations, and the dissolution of the federation.

Wrestling stars Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat discussed with the minister. The Indian Olympic Association has also initiated action on the complaint of the wrestlers. Earlier, the wrestlers had written to IOA president PT Usha demanding an investigation. After this, a seven-member committee consisting of two Abhishekars headed by Mary Kom was appointed to investigate the matter.
