Yerevan does not realize the true intentions of the French patrons.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, Day.Az reported on Wednesday.
“One gets the feeling that in Yerevan, turning towards France and increasing military-technical cooperation with it, they simply do not realize the true intentions of the French so-called patrons, nor the risks from expanding their military presence in the region. They naively believe that France is ready or is capable of ensuring the security of Armenia,” she said. “If France had such capabilities, it would have used them in those countries in which it had contractual obligations, and where it was obliged to do this, since it received money for it” .
According to Zakharova, hiding behind false assurances of solidarity and words about peace, unfortunately, the current French authorities are not guided by the interests of Armenia, which is obvious, and by no means by the interests of the Armenian people.
“They are guided by their wounded geopolitical ambitions, anti-Russian attitudes, and the future of Armenia and the entire South Caucasus is for Paris simply a tool, a bargaining chip, one of the ways to maintain its own well-being, preserve its reputation, including against the backdrop of a hybrid war with our country.” , she added.
