Zelensky to Congress: We will lose the war if you do not help us
/ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Sunday that Kiev would lose the war to Russia unless the US Congress approved a military aid package allocated to it to confront the Russian military operation.
Republicans in Congress have been delaying the approval of tens of billions of dollars in military aid to Kiev for months.
Zelensky said, during a video meeting of the “United24” fundraising platform supervised by Kiev, according to “Sky News Arabia”: “We must specifically say to Congress that if Congress does not help Ukraine, Ukraine will lose the war.”
He stated that it would be “difficult” for Ukraine to “survive” without aid.
He pointed out that “if Ukraine loses the war, other countries will be attacked.”
The Russian military operation has been continuing in Ukraine for more than two years.
Kiev reported on Sunday that a Russian bombing of the town of Hulyaipolje in the southern Zaporizhya region resulted in the deaths of three people.
The region’s governor, Ivan Fedorov, said on social media that “two men and a woman were killed under the rubble of their house, which was hit by a Russian shell.”
Officials reported that a woman was also killed in the city of Kubyansk in the Kharkiv region (northeast), which has witnessed increasing attacks in recent months.
