Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky‘s victory plan is pushing <a href="http://www.time.news/mega-storm-hits-southern-russia-and-ukraine/" title="“Mega storm” hits southern Russia and Ukraine”>NATO toward direct conflict with Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today, quoted by Reuters.
She said the plan presented earlier today to the Ukrainian parliament would lead to “disaster for the Ukrainian people”.
In a speech in which Zelensky laid out the victory plan, he called on Ukraine’s allies to take urgent steps to support Kiev at an uncertain time in a bid to end the war with Russia next year.
The Kremlin said it was too early to comment in detail on the plan, but Kiev should “take a more sober look” and realize the futility of the policies it is pursuing.
In his victory plan, which the Ukrainian president presented today to the Verkhovna Rada, it is proposed that Ukraine receive an unconditional invitation to join NATO, as well as receive additional armaments and reinforcement of its defense industry from the West. In return, Kiev offered to deploy on its territory a “non-nuclear strategic deterrent package” sufficient to protect Ukraine from any military threat from Russia”, as well as to sign an agreement with the US, EU and other allies that would allowed joint investments for the use of the country’s minerals, writes BTA.
