The head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, announced today, Wednesday, the seizure of 16 sub-model vehicles at the northern port of Umm Qasr.
Al-Waeli said in a statement received by the (INA): “Based on the information received from the port intelligence office, and after obtaining the approval of the Umm Qasr investigating judge and in cooperation with the relevant departments, the Umm Qasr Northern Port Exit Directorate was able to seize 4 containers containing 16 wheels violating the terms and controls of import (without the model).”
He added, “A proper seizure report was prepared and it was referred to the Umm Qasr Customs Police Station for the purpose of presenting it to the attention of the competent investigating judge to take the necessary legal measures against the seized items.”
