Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Electricity announced a broad plan to develop the energy transmission sector, while noting that there are big plans and promising projects implemented by Siemens, including the possibility of exploiting national gas fields.

The Ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Musa, told the (INA): “The Ministry has a contract with the international company Siemens to conduct long-term maintenance, in addition to projects working on installing cooling systems, which are in the second phase.”

He added, “Siemens is working in a certain part in some gas stations to install combined cycle units,” stressing that “the Ministry has a plan to develop the transportation sector and draw a technical map for the entire system based on the cooperation and partnership signed with this international company.”

He pointed out, “There are big plans and promising projects implemented by Siemens in partnership with the Ministry of Electricity, including the possibility of exploiting national gas fields and installing stations operating on associated gas.”

He pointed out, “Financial allocations have been provided, part of those allocations were available in 2023 and the other part is included in the 2024 budget.”

He explained, “The tripartite budget approved by the government helped the Electricity Company greatly in providing financial allocations to international companies, especially with Siemens. Therefore, there are time limits imposed by the Ministry on this company, part of which is before the advent of the summer, and part of which is within the Ministry’s plan of two to three years.” years and it is among promising projects.”
