The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information issued a statement after the controversy caused by the series “One Wife is Not Enough” since it began showing on MBC.

In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information expressed its rejection of any artistic works that offend the State of Kuwait or affect the morals of society, stressing that it will take the necessary measures to confront any artistic work that offends Kuwaiti society.

The Ministry explained that it had begun taking several measures against the offensive Ramadan series, “without mentioning the name of the work,” to Kuwaiti society and to prevent the recurrence of such offensive scenes, calling on all concerned to respect the laws, regulations, and charters, as well as taking the necessary measures to stop showing such scenes in the future.

According to the statement, the Ministry stressed that artistic works must carry sophisticated moral messages, respect the privacy of societies, and refrain from violating principles.

The Ministry praised the role taken by public benefit associations, which denounced such actions, which demonstrates societal awareness in the State of Kuwait and its rejection of any scenes that affect its ethics and established principles.

The series “One Wife is Not Enough” sparked widespread controversy in Kuwait since it began airing, because of what some considered an insult to Kuwaiti society, as it dealt with sensitive issues affecting aspects of marital life and family relations, and observers saw that there was great audacity in presenting such stories, It does not exist in our Arab society, and is taken from the stories of foreigners, and has no connection to our reality.
