Details of the call to apply for Adesca financing

He Contribution for Cultural Decentralization (Adesca) has announced the opening of the 2024-2025 Call for him financing of cultural and artistic projects in Guatemala.

This call represents a unique opportunity for individuals, organized groups, cultural institutions and artists of all disciplines to obtain support and carry out initiatives that enrich the cultural life of their communities.

The selected projects will be financed with the 2025 budget and will have a duration of approximately eight months for their development.

Proposals from hamlets, villages and municipalities in the country’s 22 departments will be addressed, allocating most of the budget to the departments, 85% to projects in the departmental area and 15% to the metropolitan area.

Who is the call addressed to?

Adesca’s call seeks to promote citizen participation in the cultural life of Guatemala, so individuals or organized groups can apply, with or without legal personality, as well as foundations, associations, cultural houses, cultural institutes, brotherhoods and creator groups.

The institution provides support and technical advice for the formulation and execution of projects, with the aim of guaranteeing their success and positive impact on the beneficiary communities.

Projects from different disciplines will be supported

The subjects covered by the call include literature, visual arts, theater, dance, popular arts, education through art, humanities, art and culture in the media, music and heritage preservation.

Process to apply for financing

The 2024-2025 call process consists of three phases:

  1. Initial interview: the requirements will be announced and the project formulation process will begin
  2. Reception and review of project files
  3. Evaluation by the Project Selection Committees and approval by the Board of Directors
