The official version is that the level crossing, located in the parish of Recimil, complied with safety standards when the accident occurred. According to ADIF,the level crossing had the protection established by the regulationsdue to the ‘Stop’ and cross signs. A long process that hasn’t even started

The reality is that the process could be long. It’s been four years since they told the residents that the crossing would be eliminated and the work has not even been tendered yet. Once this condition is met, the companies that want to choose to carry out the work will have to present their projects. Those responsible for the concession will then have to analyze each proposal and, following the regulations that have been established in the bases of the adjudicationthey will have to choose one of the companies to do the job.
After a period of claims, then the project will start. There they will have to notify and carry out the expropriations of land (if necessary) and, finally, the works will begin. No one yet knows exactly how long it might take to get to this point, but many estimate that several years.
