Azerbaijani judokas will compete for bronze medals at the Grand Slam tournament in Tbilisi.
As reported by İdman.biz, on the first day of the competition, Babalei Agayev (60 kg), Ruslan Pashayev and Rashid Elkiev (both 66 kg) will compete for awards.
During the tournament, Balabey Agayev won against Yadav Kumar (India), Tsog-Ochir Byambazh (Mongolia) and Tornike Tszhakadoea (Netherlands), but lost to Nurkanat Serikbaev (Kazakhstan) in the semi-finals.
In the fight for bronze, Balabey will meet with Giorgi Sardalashvili (Georgia), who beat Turan Bayramov in the repechage bout. Our judoka beat Andrea Carlino (Italy) and Irakli Kupatadze (Georgia), but lost to Richard Vernier in the quarterfinals, and then Sardalashvili, taking seventh place.
