Alec Baldwin (65) can (for now) breathe a sigh of relief. The involuntary manslaughter charge against him was dropped.

After it became known that the Hollywood star was avoiding a procedure after the deadly shot of camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42), Baldwin fell a stone from the heart. He responded to the news with a cuddly photo and a thank you message.

“I owe this woman everything I have (and you, Luke),” Alec Baldwin wrote on Instagram after the Santa Fe, New Mexico, state attorney’s office surprisingly announced on Thursday that the ongoing criminal proceedings against him after a fatal shot during a film shoot are dropped.

He also put an intimate photo with his wife Hilaria (39). In a restaurant, he hugs her tightly with his eyes closed and puts his head on hers.

The yoga teacher, with whom he has been married since 2012 and has seven children together, is his greatest support during the most difficult time of his life. Luke he thanks is his attorney Luke Nikas.

And Hilaria also posted an intimate couple picture, on which she is sitting on her husband’s lap. She snuggles up to him, he holds her tight in his arms. And this photo should also show: We suffered together, we are going through this tragedy together and now we are relieved together. She also posted a simple red heart.

During the shooting of the western “Rust” in October 2021, Alec Baldwin fired a movie gun during a scene rehearsal at a film ranch in Santa Fe. For reasons that are still unclear, it contained real ammunition – the camerawoman Halyna Hutchins was accidentally shot.

After that, Baldwin, who was the lead actor and producer of the film, as well as the young armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 25, charged with involuntary manslaughter. Both denied any guilt, and if convicted, Alec Baldwin could have faced up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

“Someone put live ammunition in a gun, live ammunition that should not have been on the premises. Someone is responsible for what happened and I can’t say who it is, but it’s not me.” Baldwin affirmed in an exclusive TV interview at the end of 2021. And: “I might have killed myself if I thought I was responsible, and I don’t say that lightly.”

Even though the involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin have now been dropped, the “Rust” drama isn’t quite over for him yet.

Because it is still unclear how the live ammunition got to the shooting location and the film weapon, the investigation into the case continues. Prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis said in the past few days, “new facts have become known that require further investigation and forensic analysis.”

“This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal liability,” a new indictment is possible, emphasized the special investigators, who were only assigned to the case in March.

The film “Rust” is meanwhile to be finished and Hutchins’ widower will be involved as a producer.
