Amazon plans to invest more than $15 billion in cloud technologies in Japan

From 2011 to 2022, AWS invested 1.51 trillion yen (about $10 billion) in expanding cloud capacity in Japan. The company’s generative AI, which can create new content such as stories, images, videos and music, is now being used by local businesses including beer and soft drink maker Asahi Group, retailer Marubeni and financial services firm Nomura Holdings.
