New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that Visakhapatnam will be the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. He announced this at the International Diplomatic Cooperation Meeting held in Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “I warmly welcome you to our capital Visakhapatnam. You should know how easy it is to start a business in Andhra Pradesh. I am also moving to Vizag,” he said.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had already said about making Visakhapatnam the capital. Visakhapatnam will serve as the state headquarters. It will also be the seat of the Governor. But the Legislative Assembly will run from Amaravati. He had said that the High Court would be shifted to Kurnool.

Kurnool was the capital of Andhra Pradesh when it was separated from Madras in 1956. In this case, he has declared Visakhapatnam as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh today (Jan. 31).
