At least twenty people have been killed and another 60 injured by two explosions in the cemetery of the city of Kerman, during the commemoration of the anniversary of the death of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who was assassinated by the United States near from Baghdad airport exactly four years ago.

Iran’s state television has reported that there was first an explosion, then another, and that 20 people have died in what it has described as “terrorist attacks”, according to the Reuters news agency. The television has not specified what the cause of the explosions was, while the semi-official news agency Nournews has pointed to several gas cylinders, which exploded on the road leading to the cemetery, as reported by Reuters.
Thousands of people gathered at the cemetery this Wednesday to honor Soleimani and, therefore, the number of victims may increase. There are also about 60 injured, according to the EFE Agency.
