The Director of the Sports City in Basra (Lutfi Al-Jazairi) confirmed that the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, directed early to prepare the city’s stadiums to host the matches of our national team in the World Cup qualifiers, including its match next Thursday with the Philippine national team, in addition to hosting the camps of the national team and the Olympic team, where it began. The national camp is on the 15th of this month and ends with a meeting with the Philippine national team in the World Cup qualifiers, while the Olympic team will hold its camp in preparation for the upcoming competitions, which will include international trial matches.

Al-Jazairi said in a statement by the media office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports received by the (INA): “The first team began training on the training field (C), and the Olympic team on the training field (A).”
Regarding the national team match next Thursday, he confirmed that “preparation work for all Sports City facilities took place according to timings and routine maintenance schedules, with all systems, floors, technical rooms, conference rooms, and public entrances being examined.”
He stated that “the security plan for the match was tight, as the external gates were distributed according to the categories entering the stadium, including gates for logistical support No. (2), VIP entry No. (1), and media personnel No. (13), and ten gates for fans to enter, and the operation of the mechanism was successfully tested.” .
It is noteworthy that work is being carried out at an advanced level to coordinate with the Stadium Security Division, security departments, civil defense, health departments, and volunteer effort teams, which amounted to more than (700) volunteers to secure the atmosphere of the match, and to ensure good and secure organization in all aspects.
