Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press conference that the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League issued a friendly resolution related to China for the forty-fourth time in a row, and China highly appreciates this.
The 161st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the League of Arab States adopted the resolution “Arab relations with China.”
The resolution affirmed that the Arab countries attach importance to developing relations with China, reiterating their support for the one-China principle, and affirming their readiness to enhance cooperation with China in all fields within the framework of joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, expressing its welcome to China’s hosting of the tenth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, And its appreciation for China’s diplomatic efforts to support Arab issues, settle regional crises peacefully, and enhance international and regional peace and security.
In her comment, Mao Ning said that the aforementioned decision reflects the deep traditional friendship between China and the Arab countries and the firm determination of the Arab countries to develop relations with China.
In December 2022, the first China-Arab Summit was successfully held, where the two sides agreed to make every effort to build the China-Arab community for a shared future towards the new era and lead China-Arab relations into a new era of in-depth development.
The spokeswoman added that this year marks the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum. China wants to work with the Arab side to seize the opportunity of hosting the tenth ministerial meeting of the forum in order to systematically collect successful experiences in the forum, effectively implement the results of the first China-Arab summit, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and issue a common voice for the two Chinese-Arab sides on regional and international issues.
