At times, 500 e-scooters were suspected in the Rhine near Cologne. Dozens in one place on the Main in Frankfurt. There are always similar reports from the Spree, Alster, Isar or Weser.

And then there’s the very old-fashioned garbage in water bodies: bikes, safes, construction site debris, debris, cars, signs, pieces of plastic. Anglers can also help with disposal!

Because the diverse pollution contaminates our waters, endangers shipping, damages fish and plants – and causes annoying hang-ups when fishing.

For the podcast “Bis zum Biss” we accompany the recreational fisherman and environmental activist Jan Ebel. Together with friends, a harbor master and a fish biologist, the 40-year-old fished scrap from the Spree and Dahme.
