Michelle Siefken, a wildlife photographer from Lakeland, was walking in the Circle B Bar Reserve (Mý) when she came across a giant alligator.

A male alligator was bellowing from the edge of the grassy water, Siefken said, and she guessed the crocodile was about to emerge, ready to cross the road.

After getting close, about 5 meters away from the crocodile, Siefken started holding up his camera and waiting. “When I saw the alligator facing the trail and looking ready to climb, it took him 5-10 minutes to get through the bushes on the side of the trail. The worm then stopped when it saw us. Fortunately there was no attack, the crocodile eventually made it to the other side of the road,” Siefken said.

The video of the unexpected encounter with the crocodile was shared by Siefken on her Instagram account on August 9 and attracted much attention from netizens. Many people also expressed concern, should not get close to such a large wild crocodile.

Crocodiles are large aquatic reptiles that live over a wide area of the tropics of Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Oceania. Crocodiles tend to live in slow-moving rivers and lakes, their food is quite diverse, mainly living or dead mammals.

Large crocodiles can be very dangerous to humans. Saltwater crocodiles and Nile crocodiles are the most dangerous, killing hundreds of people each year in parts of Southeast Asia and Africa. The short-snouted crocodile and possibly the black caiman are also dangerous species to humans.
