Two fake policemen have been arrested for using the Corona curfew near Salem to collect fines from motorcyclists outside.

Night curfew and Sunday curfew have been implemented in Tamil Nadu due to the rapid spread of corona and mutated omigron virus infection. Meanwhile, all the shops in the Thammampatti urban areas of Salem district were closed and the main roads were deserted without any traffic.

Police in the Upper Kanavaikadu area bordering the Thammampatti and Malliyagarai police stations have fined two motorcyclists for violating the Corona rules for not following the Corona rules during the curfew. Thammampatti complained to the police that he would be fined 500 rupees for the bill and 300 rupees if the bill was not required.

The police arrested the two in disguise and interrogated them. It came to light that the two were identified as Ranjith Kumar and Satish from Ulipuram village near Thammampatti. It was revealed that they had prepared a fake bill and stopped the occupants of the two-wheeler claiming to be the police and fined them for driving around outside in violation of the corona rules.

Following this, the real police arrested the two fake policemen and confiscated fake bills and a fine of Rs 5,000 and a two-wheeler. The incident in which two fake policemen were arrested for making fake bills using curfew and extorting fines from motorists has caused a great stir in the Thammampatti area.
