When an employee is willing to grow, so does their salary.

Stendal, Düsseldorf Many employees may not see much prospect of getting a higher salary in bad economic times. The chances of more money are not necessarily bad – if you bring the skills that are currently very popular with companies.

Nicole Mai from the Russel Reynolds HR consultancy says: “Currently, bosses pay more salary when employees drive innovation.” Specialist knowledge in the field of tech and AI is more in demand than ever. Even those who hedge risks can count on a higher fixed salary.

However, things are not looking so good for interchangeable roles such as sales managers. “Companies have become more cautious,” says Mai. However, employees and managers have not yet realized this trend.

So there is currently a higher salary, especially for high performers and specialists, but not for the rest.
