An attempt has been made to imprison former President and current Member of Parliament and Leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Maithripala Sirisena (maithripala-sirisena).
The allegation has been exposed by the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Minister of State Dayasiri Jayasekesara.
He added, “Our leader has been critical of the government and moves are being made to do something and imprison him. He will face this challenge. Our party is also ready.

There is something called law in the country. But some ministers are pushing for it to go beyond that and imprison Maitreya. So, there may be a secret agenda behind this.
Meanwhile, the Central Working Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has not yet decided on leaving the government. However, the Central Executive Committee has allowed the government to boldly point out if the trip was a mistake. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
