(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 28 – Ecuador qualifies in extremis for the quarterfinals of the Copa America by stopping Brazil 1-1, preventing Seleçao from closing group B with full points. Yesterday in Goiania the hosts first passed in the lead in the 37th minute with Eder Militao, only to be resumed in the 53rd minute by Angel Mena’s goal. The green-gold national team came from a series of 10 consecutive victories and in any case closed their group clearly in the lead: 10 points, 3 more than the runner-up Peru who yesterday beat Venezuela 1-0 in Brasilia. Tonight in the field Bolivia-Argentina and Uruguay-Paraguay for group A.
