A bang in the federal capital! City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) announced new corona rules on Saturday.
It goes very fast! Just a day ago, the government around Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg (ÖVP) decided to tighten the corona measures, which particularly affect unvaccinated people. The original 3-step plan has been expanded to include two more steps (Note see graphic below).
Just one day later, City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) had a sit up and announced new corona regulations in the federal capital. According to Hacker, there will soon be new measures that primarily affect the cultural sector – such as cinemas and small theaters. That said the 58-year-old in the “Austria” interview.
2G but without a mask
According to Hacker, for smaller events or performances there will be the option of doing without a mask requirement. For this, however, the 2G rule – i.e. vaccinated or recovered in the last six months – must be established as a prerequisite for entry.
The 2G rule is already effective for events with more than 500 visitors, as well as in night-time catering, reports the APA. The Vienna State Opera, for example, is affected by this. Here, for example, people do not have to wear a mask if they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or have recovered.
The 2.5G rule applies to smaller venues such as cinemas. Vaccinated and convalescent people as well as people who can show a negative PCR test are admitted. However, a mask is required here. According to hackers, these organizers will now have the option to switch to a 2G mode, it said.
2Gplus rule
In addition, a 2Gplus rule can be displayed as a requirement. In plain language: vaccinated, recovered plus tested. You don’t have to wear a mask for this. Organizers can, however, stay with the current mode.
