In a press release signed by the executive secretary, Paterne Amoussouga, the Cotonou Town Hall denounces the anarchic occupation of the perimeter of the fishing road development project. According to the said press release, the authors of this act violate letter No. 598/MVCT/DC /SGM/DGDU /SP-C of September 25, 2023 relating to the restrictions linked to the urban planning regulations of the development perimeter of the fishing road , thus creating difficulties linked to land dynamics. Indeed, this project is included in the Government Action Program 2021-2026. “This situation is not likely to facilitate the proper execution of this important project for the development of the city of Cotonou,” indicates the SE in the press release. To this end, it invites architects, engineers and project owners that restrictions have been made to the specific town planning regulations for the development perimeter of the fishing road. Among these, the limitation to a maximum height of R+1 of all authorizations previously granted in the area, particularly on the lots overlooking the northern facade of the fishing road, as well as the suspension of the decision on any new authorization to build. The Executive Secretary invites them to the civic spirit and patriotic sense to facilitate the implementation of the said project.
