Crisis at the FFF: “Noël Le Graët will eventually fall”, assures Roxana Maracineanu

by time news

One by one the people who have worked directly or indirectly with Noël Le Graët are calling for his resignation. This Wednesday, it was Roxana Maracineanu, the former Minister of Sports, who pinned the president of the French Football Federation in an interview with South West. “He lives in total impunity. (…) His favorite refrain was and still is “Anyway, I’ll stay here and you won’t be here in one or two years”. By force, he will end up falling … “, dropped the former world swimming champion.

Maracineanu notably returned to the comments made by the boss of the FFF on Zinédine Zidane: “Le Graët does not show himself up to his duties. He can say what he wants about Zinedine Zidane in his family circle or in his living room, but not when he is invited on a TV or radio set! Unless you do it on purpose, which cannot be ruled out…”

The former Minister of Sports, who also dealt with Didier Gailhaguet, head of the French Federation of Ice Sports, wants to generalize the problem around federation presidents. “They are taking the sport system hostage. They were elected and they feel like they are for life, says the former swimmer. They invoke the interference of the Minister of Sports in the federation and on the other side, they do their little business in their corner. Like Noël Le Graët, regularly quoted in the interview, the war is not yet over with the Ministry of Sports.
