Death of stone worker injured in BSF firing in Panchgarh

Palash (35), who was injured in BSF firing while picking stones from the river, died at Tentulia in Panchagarh. He died while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Sunday (May 21) night.

Palash is the son of Abdur Rahman of Bogulati village of Tentulia upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tentulia Police Station Abu Saeed Chowdhury said that Palash, who was shot, was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment there. The postmortem and autopsy will be done there.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Palash went to pick up stones along with other laborers in Sao river bordering Bhutipukur of Bhajanpur union of upazila. Meanwhile, members of Tepravita 195 BSF battalion of India suddenly fired from the riverside tea garden. Palash was shot.
