Billa was released as Rajinikanth’s action thriller in 1980. Rajini played dual roles as Billa and Rajappa in this film. Directed by Krishnamurthy, it is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 film Don. The film featured Sri Priya and K Balaji in lead roles. Rajinikanth’s career took a different angle after witnessing massive box office success.

In this film, Rajinikanth will act like a brother and deceive others. A comedy drama, it featured Thenkai Srinivasan, Nagesh, Chaukar Janaki, Madhavi, Poornam Viswanath and Vijay Chandrasekhar in lead roles. This film was directed by Balachander. It is a remake of the 1979 Bollywood film Golmaal.
