Elon Musk tweeted “ I don’t buy any sports team calling a viral post about his purchase of Manchester United a joke. The richest man in the world has a habit of posting provocative statements on Twitter for fun and Musk was back when he told his more than 103 million followers: “ Moreover, I buy Manchester United, you are welcome. His original tweet had garnered nearly 500,000 likes within hours. The billionaire Tesla and CEO of SpaceX had made the comment in response to another of his tweets, about support for the two main political parties in the United States. Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in world football but suffering from a protracted crisis, is owned by the Glazer family. There was no immediate reaction from United or its owners to Musk’s tweets.
