Russian air defenses shot down dozens of Ukrainian drones in occupied Crimea and southern Russia this Friday, at a time when Ukraine is carrying out a strategy to attack the peninsula annexed by Moscow.

In the Russian city of Belgorod, near the Ukrainian border, two people were injured by shrapnel, the regional governor said.

Almost 100 homes and apartments were hit, as well as a few dozen cars.

Last Saturday, a bombing in Belgorod killed 25 people, including five children, in one of the deadliest attacks on Russian soil since the start of the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has promised to hit more targets on the Crimean Peninsula and within Russian border regions this year.

The objective is to disturb Russia, at a time when Vladimir Putin is seeking re-election as president on March 17th.

The Russians hit a Ukrainian city in the Donetsk region, in the east of the country, with six missiles.

The attack caused damage to homes and public buildings. There is no electricity or water supply in some parts of the city.

According to Ukrainian authorities, in total, the Russians hit six locations in the Donetsk region. Two people died and two others were injured as a result of these attacks.
