Eva Blasco, elected new president of the International Federation of Businesswomen

The Valencian Eva Blasco García has been elected new president of the International Federation of Businesswomen BPW Spain with a board made up of a group of “committed and brave” women, with whom she will seek to develop strategic alliances with other women’s associations to accelerate the change towards a truly egalitarian society, as he indicated in his speech.

Blasco García has a long history in the tourism sector, holds the vice presidency of International Relations of the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies CEAV and is a member of the Board of the World Alliance of Travel Agencies WTAAA. She was vice president of the European Association of Travel Agencies ECTAA for 8 years, having been the first Spanish person, and the only one to date, to be elected. She is currently president of the CEV Valencia Business Confederation, as well as a member of the CEOE board of directors.

After 7 years at the head of Evap/BPW Valencia, marked by the exponential growth of the number of associates, and especially by the consolidation and strengthening of Evap in the business field, as a reference association, Blasco García has been elected in the Electoral Assembly held in Lleida, in which he thanked the outgoing president, Silvia Vigatà, for her dedication and effort throughout her 5 years at the head of the organization, in a complex context marked by the pandemic.

Blasco García is accompanied on the new board by: Isabel Carrasco García from REM/BPW Marbella-Málaga-Campo de Gibraltar as 1st Vice President, Mª Dolores Sánchez Tuduri from ASODAME/BPW Barcelona as 2nd Vice President, Amparo Martínez Miró from Evap/BPW Valencia as Secretary General and Avelina Bellostas Ara of AMEPHU/BPW Aragón as Treasurer. And as members: Coral Ariño Jordán (Evap/BPW Valencia), Neus Malagelada Robledillo (AGE/BPW Girona), Paz Martín Lozano (BPW Madrid), Sonia Mateo Sementini (ADEE/BPW Tarragona), Mª Isabel Muñoz González (REM/BPW Marbella- Málaga-Campo de Gibraltar), Eulàlia Pagès Valls (Ap!Lleida/BPW Lleida), Susana Pérez Peris (NDCS/BPW Castellón), Sonia Suárez Gavira (REM/BPW Marbella-Málaga-Campo de Gibraltar), Antonia Varela Pérez (BPW Canarias) and Sony Vashdev Lalwani (BPW Ceuta-Melilla).

“The elected candidate combines the necessary board experience, which allows for continuity of the strategic lines already initiated, with new incorporations, which will guarantee a renewed vision and the assumption of new challenges,” Blasco described.

Blasco García has indicated that women’s organizations with shared values ​​must work together “to promote and accelerate the change towards an authentic egalitarian society” so among the lines of work for the period 2023-2026, he has highlighted the need to promote and reinforce the positioning of BPW Spain, to consolidate it as a leading association for Spanish businesswomen, managers and professionals, developing strategic alliances with sectoral women’s organizations with shared values.

Other strategic axes will be territorial expansion, as well as articulating a horizontal organizational structure, through the creation of work groups, which enable active participation of member associations in the definition, design and development of the Federation’s activities.

BPW Spain obtained its own ECOSOC special consultative status before the United Nations on August 2, 2019, representing Spanish businesswomen and managers in UNECE, CSW, NGO and CEDAW.
