Vyacheslav Lebedev, a psychophysiologist, head of the Neurofitness Center, said on October 17 that a healthy lifestyle can slow down the aging process of the brain.

According to him, the brain is the main organ of the human nervous system and can begin to age even at a young age. So, a person can already experience memory impairment and a decrease in brain activity by the age of 30.

The development of such cognitive impairments is quite easy to slow down, the specialist emphasized. A healthy lifestyle will help with this.

“Sleep, nutrition and physical activity are the three basic elements that are needed. If one of them is missing – that is, we either eat poorly, or sleep irregularly, or move a little – then everything else will not work. These are the three pillars on which our cognitive health rests, “Lebedev said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

He added that if a healthy lifestyle does not help stop the aging process of the brain, you should contact a medical facility for the necessary treatment.

On October 15, scientists at Ohio State University found that fast food leads to inflammatory reactions in the brain, increasing the risk of memory loss. The study authors recommended consuming more complex carbohydrates and unprocessed foods. They also drew attention to the fact that eating the wrong food, while relying on supplements, is not worth it.
