More than half of Russians (60%) like Olivier with boiled sausage, every fifth person prefers salad with chicken (19%), according to a survey from AliExpress Russia and ResearchMe.
Another 10% of respondents said that they love beef salad. Less than 1% of respondents chose the vegetarian version of the salad.
The researchers also found out what unusual products Russians add to Olivier. The most popular among them are shrimp and crab meat. They are added to the salad by a third of the respondents among those Russians who love non-standard dish options. Olives are in second place, they are put in Olivier by 27% of the respondents. The third most popular unusual ingredient turned out to be capers, they are used by 22% of fans of unusual Olivier recipes.
Olivier and herring under a fur coat rose by 15% and 25% over the year
The overwhelming majority of Russians (85%) dress Olivier with mayonnaise, 14% prefer sour cream, and another 1% choose unusual dressings – for example, a salad with yogurt or butter. At the same time, 36% of the respondents were against carrots in a salad, and only 13% were against peas.
