FCP offers workshops, mini dance and film screenings in the pre-Carnival program at Centur

by time news

In search of new forms of entertainment in the pre-Carnival week, the Fundação Cultural do Pará (FCP) is promoting various programs. The Arthur Vianna Public Library, located in Centur, in Belém, is offering workshops, a mini dance and film showings focused on the carnival celebration. The activities will take place until Friday (9), at different times. Entry is free.

FCP’s goal is also to create a welcoming environment for all library patrons looking to have fun this time of year. The activities are divided into two workshops, one for Toy Art on Paper (Toy Art, in the Portuguese translation) and another to create party props, using recyclable materials. There will also be a mini dance that will tour the Centur spaces and films focused on the Carnival theme will be shown, which are part of the Cine Arthur and CineClube Arthur Vianna programming.

“Ball of Many Carnivals” – the project was created in 2023 by actor and scenic director Alexandre Rosendo. The proposal is to tour the FCP space, inviting the public and employees to the Fonoteca Satyro de Mello, giving value to the collection of vinyls and CDs of Carnival music available at the Arthur Vianna Public Library.

“The dance is part of the Carnival stories project, which was created last year. At the end of the dance, we will return to the Fonoteca to listen to vinyls and CDs of Carnival music. We want to focus on and value those vinyls from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, which have plots, such as marchinhas, axé songs, among others”, said Alexandre Rosendo.

Workshops – The Toy Art course is being taught by social educator Jin Barreto and aims to provide learning and improvement of techniques, exploring unique methods and expressions in the making of artistic dolls. “Create a collaborative environment in which participants can share ideas, methods and inspirations, promoting the exchange of experiences between those involved in the workshop”, explained Jin Barreto.

The “Carnival Props” workshop aims to stimulate creativity, promoting teamwork and providing learning, all in a fun environment. Furthermore, the course will use recyclable materials, such as cardboard and PET bottles. After creation, participants wore their costumes at the Ball of Many Carnivals. The event will be taught by educator Max Saraiva.

“I have very good expectations for this workshop. We hope to have a magical day, where we can show children that through recyclable materials we can create incredible costumes for Carnival”, said the educator.
