Cases of Covid are increasing in foreign countries like China, America and Japan. Many countries have re-strengthened the measures against Covid-19, including masks and sanitizers. Meanwhile, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned many sanitizers. About 378 sanitizers produced in countries like America, China and Mexico have been banned.

The FDA has given instructions not to use these sanitizers due to various reasons including health problems. Sanitizers containing a few ingredients like methanol, 1-propanol, benzene and acetaldehyde are banned.

It has also been decided to recall sanitizers that do not contain sufficient amounts of ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and benzalkonium chloride. In addition, it is recommended to recall those manufactured in the same facilities as toxic products and those packaged in a manner similar to a food or beverage container in a way that could be accidentally consumed.

Many major labels, including Disney, are also recalling products from China. The FDA also states that anyone who has come into contact with sanitizers containing methanol should seek immediate treatment. Exposure to high levels of methanol can cause vomiting, headache, blurred vision, coma, nervous system damage, and even death, according to the FDA.

US health workers also specify that sanitizers containing at least 60 percent alcohol should be used. The FDA also states that immediate action will be taken if quality issues arise in relation to sanitizers.
