Stellantis has decided to localize a Fiat Scudo model intended for export at PSMA rus facilities, Stellantis reported on 20 July. The production of the van, according to the company, will begin before the end of 2022.
The Stellantis Automotive Alliance was formed in January 2021 through the merger of the PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler.
The main asset of the alliance is the PSMA rus plant, launched by PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in 2010 near Kaluga. Stellantis inherited 70% of the shares in the company, the rest – from Mitsubishi. The plant produces Peugeot 408 and Citroen C4 passenger cars, as well as light commercial vehicles (LCV): small trucks and passenger cars of Peugeot, Opel and Citroen brands. Mitsubishi assembles Outlander and Pajero Sport SUVs at the plant. From the segment of mini-vans and compact vans, the production of Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo and Opel Combo models has been launched.
