Fire on the Perenco Becuna platform: 2 injured and 5 missing

DIG/ A fire occurred on March 20, 2024 around 3:25 p.m. (Gabon time) on the Perenco Becuna platform off the coast of Gabon.

Initial reports indicate that two (2) people were injured and five (5) are currently missing.

The two (2) injured people were evacuated and taken care of by the competent services on land.

The area was secured, the fire was brought under control and all personnel present on the platform, who were not injured, were evacuated.

Perenco says it has activated its emergency response procedure and is working closely with emergency services and relevant authorities.
