In an interview with The New York Times the supermodel Gisele Bündchen (43) goes hard against the rumors that she was unfaithful to her ex-husband, the football player Tom Brady (46).
– It’s just a lie, says Bündchen in the interview.
Rumors began to swirl after the couple divorced in 2022. Sources claimed that Bündchen had a relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente as early as 2021. She flatly denies this.
Bündchen believes the reason the rumors stick is sexist attitudes towards women who leave their men.
– Women are always blamed when they leave unhealthy relationships, she says.
Bündchen confirms that she is now in a new relationship, but will not give the name of her boyfriend. She describes it as a far more open and honest relationship than before.
She also says that the last few years have been difficult. In addition to the divorce, she has suffered from a back injury after a fall from a horse, and has undergone two shoulder operations.
– I have never felt so depressed and vulnerable.
She says that for a period she was barely able to lift her luggage or lift her children Benjamin and Vivian. Now she lives alone with them in Miami.
