The ‘Walton-EMA Media Cup Cricket-2024’ organized under the auspices of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC and managed by Electronic Media Marketing Association of Bangladesh (EMA) ended today on Sunday. Gun Bangla TV is the champion of this event. Deepta TV is the runner-up.

Gun Bangla TV won the championship by defeating Deepta TV by 6 wickets in the final held at the Shaheed Zayan Chowdhury playground of Banani. On this day, Deepta went to bat first and scored 105 runs, losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 10 overs. In reply, Gun Bangla secured the victory by losing 4 wickets in 9.4 overs by scoring 109 runs. Shaun of Gun Bangla was the man of the match with 3 wickets with the ball and 35 runs with the bat.

Champion team gets Gun Bangla TV trophy, medal and prize money of Tk 1 lakh. And the runner-up team gets Deepta TV trophy, medal and 50 thousand taka prize money.

At the end of the final, the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation distributed the prizes as the chief guest. Rabiul Islam Milton, Gun Bangla Television Chairperson Farzana Munni, Chief Executive Kaushik Hossain Tapas, actors Zayed Khan and Nirav Hossain were present.

The staff of 24 private television stations of the country participated in this year’s Walton-Ima Media Cup cricket tournament. 24 teams are divided into 8 groups in group stage. From there, 8 teams advanced to the quarter finals. Four teams played in the semi-finals. Two teams play the final.

In ‘F’ group – Bangla TV, Channel I and Channel Nine.
In ‘G’ group – Green TV, Ekushey Television and SA TV.
In ‘H’ group – Global TV, Banglavision and Deepta TV.
