Hajj 2023; 2,10,000 domestic pilgrims this year

Makkah | The Ministry of Hajj has announced that with the lifting of age restrictions and restrictions for the Hajj season 2023, 2,10,000 pilgrims, both local and foreign, will be able to perform Hajj in Saudi Arabia. In 2019, 2.5 million people had the opportunity to perform Hajj, but due to the Covid security, it was capped at 900,000 in 2022 and the age limit of pilgrims was limited to between 18 and 65 years. These restrictions have been lifted this year.

Also, the amount of Hajj and Umrah insurance has been reduced. The insurance amount for Umrah pilgrims has been reduced from 235 Rials to 88 Rials by 63 percent, and that of Hajj pilgrims from 109 Rials to 29 Rials has been reduced by 73 percent.

Hajj and Umrah Minister Dr. Abdulfattah Mushat said. This year, 15 percent of Mina’s modern accommodation facilities have been earmarked for domestic Hajj pilgrims. The minister said that 180 companies and institutions in the country are working to provide better services to the domestic Hajj pilgrims this year.
