Patna: Party leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has claimed that Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) wants one more ministerial berth in the Bihar cabinet. HAM, which has four MLAs, has the right to two ministerial posts in the event that an independent is made a minister. Manchi said that he decided to stand with the NDA after rejecting the post of chief minister offered by the grand alliance.

Manchi also revealed that he had spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar about the second ministry post.

HAM has started bargaining for the second ministerial post as the cabinet formation is scheduled to take place next week. When the cabinet was formed under the leadership of Nitish, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s son Santosh Suman was included as the HAM representative. Manchi demands that party MLA Anil Kumar Singh should also be made a minister. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is continuing discussions with NDA constituent party leaders on the issue of cabinet development and division of departments. There are also indications that the Home Department has asked the BJP.
