The authorities of the Bakhchisarai region of Crimea have declared a municipal emergency due to floods, head of the district administration Lyudmila Puchkova told TASS.

“An emergency regime has been introduced on the territory of the Belbek Valley, where there are three rural settlements,” she said.

Due to heavy rains, the Kokkoz and Belbek rivers began to overflow their banks, and three settlements in the Bakhchisarai region suffered from floods – Kuibyshevo, Sokolinoe and Golubinka. More than 60 households were flooded. One woman is missing. Earlier, the authorities reported that one person, according to preliminary data, was killed, another was injured.

Now the water in the bed of the Belbek River is decreasing, but the Crimean hydrometeorological center did not rule out a new flood due to nighttime precipitation.

A storm warning was announced on the peninsula on 4 and 5 July.
